Milei ordered criminal proceedings against Thales; he also requested arbitration with the United Kingdom to stop oil exploitation on the islands
He explained in a statement that he will sanction the firm Thales UK Limited, which makes a route between the islands and Punta Arenas.He will also stop the exploitation of hydrocarbons in the disputed area within two weeks or take the complaint to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
