Austria is modernising its toll system: from 2027 on, there will be only digital vignettes. The classic "Pickerl" will be abolished.
For many holidaymakers the partly hated, partly beloved adhesive tradition ends: 2026 will be the last year for the pickerl. At the end there is a signal for the windshield.
The last picker for 2026 will be "fire red". The price for the annual Vignette rises to 106.80 euros.
From 2027 onwards, the vignette will only be digitally available.
