Over 600 more $10-a-day child-care spaces to open on Avalon Peninsula

Newfoundland and Labrador continues to expand its $10-a-day child-care program. On Friday, Early Childhood Development Minister Bernard Davis announced 631 new spaces.

Today the province announced details on more than two dozen early learning and childcare projects underway in the Avalon region. But as NTV’s Ben Cleary tells us, some childhood educators say there’s plenty of work left to fill the need for childcare in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Government Announces New Childcare Spaces on Avalon

The provincial government is touting the creation of some 631 childcare spaces on the Avalon Peninsula. The new spaces come from 27 new childcare centres that are either open, or will open in the coming months. Government made the announcement at Dream with Us child care centre in CBS, which recently opened with 56 child care spaces.
