New York ramps up drunk driving enforcement ahead of Halloween

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced state and local law enforcement will increase patrols targeting impaired and reckless drivers during a Halloween enforcement campaign running from Oct. 25 through Oct. 31.The initiative, funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, will include additional DWI patrols and sobriety checkpoints across New York. Officers will also watch for distracted and speeding drivers during the enforcement period.
