More than 175k Air Fryers Sold at Target Recalled for Burn Hazard
Gourmia is offering a free repair kit after 57 reports and 40 burn injuries tied to doors that can close unexpectedly.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of nearly 176,000 Gourmia Stainless Steel Digital 9-Slice Digital Air Fryer Ovens sold at Target on November 5 because oven doors can "unexpectedly close when bumped" while users retrieve hot food.
Gourmia has received 57 reports of oven doors closing unexpectedly while consumers retrieved food, resulting in 40 burn injuries to hands and wrists. The units feature two spring-loaded glass French doors that create the hazard.
Consumers should check for Model Number GTF7530 and UPC Code 810002862779 on the back label to identify recalled units. These air fryer ovens sold at Target locations and online for about $150 between October 2021 and June 2026.
Federal regulators urge owners to stop using recalled appliances immediately to prevent further injuries. Gourmia is offering a free repair kit with an attachable doorstop and installation instructions.
Affected consumers can contact Gourmia at 888-834-0092 or visit the company website to request their repair kit. The doorstop prevents doors from closing unexpectedly, restoring safe operation of the Gourmia Air Fryer Oven.
