"Goodbye, my brave hobbits": remove giant sculptures from 'Lord of the Rings' from the airport in Wellington

Wellington International Airport in New Zealand announced that it will remove its iconic sculptures inspired by The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, after more than a decade of welcoming travelers with representations of the Middle Earth. The pieces included a monumental figure of the magician Gandalf riding an eagle, with a wingspan of 15 meters and a weight of approximately one ton.
