Residents of some Slovenian towns were once again awakened by May Day vigils this year. Brass bands, in some places accompanied by majorettes, woke residents early in the morning, following a long-standing tradition.
In many places across Slovenia, residents were awakened by May Day vigils this morning. Orchestras have traditionally set off early in the morning in several Slovenian cities, with the sounds of brass, horns and drums echoing through the streets. "Good morning, May 1st." Labor Day puts workers and their rights at the forefront. After bonfires were lit across Slovenia last night, numerous May Day celebrations will take place today.
The musicians set off at six in the morning from the Main Square in Ljutomer, and ended the vigil after 10 a.m. in Jeruzalem.
