Gold prices rose on Thursday after US auto tariffs. Spot gold rose 0.5 percent to $3,033.20 per ounce by 0535 GMT. US gold futures rose 0.6 percent to $3,039. US President Donald Trump announced 25 percent tariffs on autos on Wednesday. Among other precious metals, spot silver fell 0.1 percent to $33.68 per ounce, platinum fell 0.3 percent to $971.6, and palladium lost 0.4 percent to $964.01.
