- Tesla's Model Y ranked second with more than 180,000 units sold, while BYD's Yuan UP SUV secured fifth place with nearly 97,700 sales. The German automaker's Lavida was the only foreign car in the top 10.
- Consumers increasingly favor lower-cost options, with the Geely Xingyuan priced at under 100,000 yuan . The Tesla vehicle commands a higher price tag between 263,500 yuan and 313,500 yuan.
- New energy vehicles captured 65.1% of the passenger car market in July, up from 54% a year ago, according to China Passenger Car Association data released Tuesday.
- This domestic success aligns with China's broader manufacturing dominance, as Chinese firms now produce around 80% of the world's lithium-ion battery cells and 70% of electric vehicles globally.
