Glasgow mum dies while on Lanzarote holiday as heartbroken family pay tribute
Her family set up a GoFundMe page that raised more than £1,780 within hours to help her husband and children.
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, 46-year-old Glasgow resident Mandi Murray died following a heart attack while on holiday in Lanzarote, just one day after arriving for her break.
Murray worked as a door steward at The Ferry music venue in Glasgow and was a devoted supporter of Celtic and Scotland, the national football team.
Her son, Steven, paid tribute on social media, saying, "Today, I woke up thinking about my mum and realised that she wasn't just my biggest critic – she was also one of my best friends."
Daughter Courtney established a GoFundMe page to support her father, Derek, financially, raising more than £1,780 within hours of its creation.
Friends and family shared tributes across social media for Mandi, describing her as "the most beautiful soul" and mourning her sudden passing while on holiday.
