The court in Lelystad has sentenced a 37-year-old truck driver to 240 hours of community service and a one-year suspended driving ban for causing a fatal accident along the A27 near Almere. On March 1 last year, the driver hit a 31-year-old man from Lelystad who was waiting on the hard shoulder after an earlier accident.
The ghost driver who caused a fatal accident on the A19 motorway last autumn was to be released on parole for the first time. The public prosecutor's office has appealed that decision.
