The Ghent Court of Appeal has acquitted a man who was previously convicted of rape after he failed to pay for several prostitution visits in Ghent between 2018 and 2021. The criminal court had sentenced him to 25 months in prison for this in June 2023. However, according to the court, there was no violation of the right to sexual self-determination.
