GM Recalling 23,000 Vehicles over Fuel Leak Issue

- On Tuesday, General Motors is recalling 23,656 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles in the United States due to a fuel-leak fire risk affecting 2023–2026 models, including 2026 Convertible and Coupe variants.
- GM launched a probe on June 17 after reports showed excess fuel may spill into the fuel-filler pocket during refueling, leaking onto an ignition source in Corvettes with a left-side radiator and fan configuration, NHTSA said.
- The probe found four alleged fires and two minor alleged injuries, with malfunctioning gas station pumps contributing to at least two incidents involving owners of recalled vehicles.
- The recall notice published on Aug. 21 states NHTSA estimates only 0.1% of recalled vehicles under recall ID 25V536 have a defect that may cause fire if fuel contacts hot engine parts.
