A new study published in the Oxford Academic Journal of Sexual Medicine suggests that transgender surgeries are associated with an increased risk of mental health problems. The study, which included more than 107,000 adult patients with gender dysphoria, found that people who undergo gender reassignment surgery are more likely to experience depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
