California Gov. Newsom's Double Take: Pushing "Defund" Groups While Talking Tough On Crime

CALIFORNIA, JUL 21 – Governor Newsom persuaded the James Irvine Foundation to donate $500,000 to a nonprofit aiding migrants and advocating changes in policing and immigration enforcement in California.

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom asked nonprofits to donate at least $610,000 to groups that call for defunding or abolishing law enforcement since 2023 before distancing himself from such stances.
