Garbage Truck Catches Fire Behind MHS

(Photo Courtesy: Milan Volunteer Fire Department) (Milan, IN) – Firefighters were called to the lot between Milan High School and the football stadium just before 5:00 Friday morning after a garbage truck’s load caught fire. Firefighters arriving on the scene discovered the driver was able to push the burning load off the dump truck and move the vehicle away from the flames. Crews from the Milan and Delaware volunteer fire departments were able to quickly bring the blaze under control. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire was not listed. Also assisting were Ripley County EMA, Ripley County Communications, and Affordable Todd’s Wrecker Service, which provided a skid steer to help with the cleanup.
