Game addict turns hotel room into dumping ground after 2 years’ stay. You can't even look at the bathroom
The room required three days of cleaning and major renovations due to accumulated rubbish and damage after a nearly two-year stay by a gaming addict, hotel staff said.
- On December 12, employees at the esports hotel in Changchun discovered a room buried in rubbish about one metre high after a gaming addict finally checked out, with tables and two gaming chairs almost completely covered.
- The esports hotel specialises in private gaming rooms with high-end computers and fast internet, and staff and media described the gamer as deeply addicted and rarely seen outside.
- Cleaning teams only saw the full scale after he left and then spent three days clearing, discarding, and disinfecting the room; management said visible damage means renovation will be needed.
- Hotel management said the guest still owes more than 10 days of unpaid fees totalling around 2,700 Chinese yen and has not reported the matter to police.
- Video first shared by The Sun and reported by Dexerto then went viral on X, prompting online users to range from jokes to concern for the gamer's wellbeing.
