Fulham confirm Marco Silva to leave club as manager this summer
Fulham Football Club announced on Tuesday that Head Coach Marco Silva will leave Craven Cottage this summer, ending his five-year tenure at the Premier League club.
Silva's tenure included winning the Championship in his first season, with Fulham finishing 10th and 13th in subsequent top-flight campaigns, cementing his status as a long-serving manager.
Silva told fans, "To our fans- I asked you, from day one, to always be with us. And that's what you did these past five years." Shahid Khan confirmed the club has prepared for this transition.
Reports link the Portuguese manager with a move to Benfica, where he would succeed Jose Mourinho at the Estadio in Lisbon, though Silva has not confirmed his next destination.
Shahid Khan stated the club will "soon appoint a new leader in a timely but deliberate manner," noting Fulham's talented squad and historic Craven Cottage ground make it an attractive destination.
