Israeli gov't to increase passenger numbers on flights departing Ben-Gurion
Starting Sunday, flights from Ben-Gurion will carry 80–90 passengers, including humanitarian cases, while flight frequency stays limited. El Al says the government should cover passenger costs after recent cancellations forced by state restrictions, calling the impact 'significant'

After a period of strict restrictions, the number of passengers on outbound flights will increase to 80 starting from Monday • The Ministry of Transportation's updated outline includes changes to the frequency of flights and restrictions on entry into Israel • Airlines will be required to continue allocating seats for humanitarian and exceptional cases
If there are no last-minute changes to safety guidelines, starting Saturday night the number of passengers departing on each flight is expected to increase to about 90, of which about 20 are humanitarian passengers. The relief comes after a decision was made last week to greatly reduce the number of people on each flight departing from the country.
