From January 2022 to July 2024, Food Prices in Croatia Increased by 26.1 Percent

RESPONSIBILITY for the rise in prices of food and consumer goods in Croatia cannot be unambiguously attributed to a single stakeholder in the supply chain, but the import component was a more significant generator of price increases than domestic production, according to a study by the Croatian Competition Authority for the period from January 2022 to July 2024.

The import price index for Croatia was as high as 26.3%, which undoubtedly confirms that the import component was a more significant driver of inflation than domestic production.
