The Constitutional Council has invalidated the article of the Duplomb law reintroducing acetamiprid, a pesticide banned since 2018. While opponents are delighted with this partial censorship, the FNSEA denounces an attack on agricultural competitiveness.

The Duplomb law, against which more than 2 million French were mobilized, was partly censored by the Constitutional Council. The reintroduction of acetamipride was considered unconstitutional but the green light was given to the megabasins.
The Constitutional Council decided that the planned reintroduction of the pesticide acetamiprid, which was already banned in 2018, would violate the environmental charter.
The reintroduction of acetamiprid, a banned pesticide in the neonicotinoid family, was censored by the Sages on Thursday. The Constitutional Council also declared compliance with the other key provisions on water storage facilities and livestock buildings.
