The Handala, operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, left the port of Syracuse shortly after 12:00 p.m. (1000 GMT), an AFP journalist saw, carrying about fifteen activists.
One month after Israel intercepted the humanitarian ship Madleen, which was trying to reach Gaza, a new boat from the "Flotille pour la liberté" left on Sunday 13 July from Sicily, Italy.
