Storm Fergus: Police tell public to 'avoid area' after reports tornado struck Irish village
A freak storm incident in Co Leitrim caused substantial damage in a village, with high winds damaging cars, buildings, boats, and trees. No serious injuries were reported.
Storm Fergus, named by Met Eireann, is expected to bring gusty winds and further rainfall, particularly in the West. A wind warning remains in place until midnight.
The bad weather disrupted train services in Manchester, with overhead lines "exploding" and affecting travel to Liverpool, Wales, Norwich, York, and Edinburgh.
