QUITO (AP) — The Ecuadorian military announced Tuesday that four soldiers held captive by protesters over the weekend have been released as part of a national strike called by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities.

According to official reports, the liberated soldiers arrived at the police unit of Cotacachi, handed over by members of the indigenous community.
