- Sobhi, who has 37 appearances for Egypt, played for Al-Ahly, Stoke City and Huddersfield Town before joining Pyramids in 2020 and helping them win their first CAF Champions League title.
- The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed anti-doping violations in November, leaving Sobhi facing a four-year suspension, and Sobhi's lawyer could not be reached immediately for comment.
