Former Northumberland rail line to reopen to walkers after 71 years

Summary by Ground News
The Alnwick to Cornhill line opened in 1887 but closed in 1953. Volunteers hope walkers will be using the first section by the summer. Work is to begin shortly to install a new bridge and clear ditches. Long term aim is to reopen the whole line as a greenway for walkers, cyclists and horses.
