Mel Bridgman, Former Red Wings Center, Dies at 70

- During his Flyers tenure he scored 119 goals and added 205 assists in 462 games and played 977 regular-season NHL games, scoring 252 goals and totaling 701 points.
- The cause of death was not disclosed, and Mel Bridgman is the latest former Flyer to die this year, joining Bernie Parent in September.
- After retiring he earned a Wharton business degree and finished his playing career with the Vancouver Canucks in 1988-89 before moving into management.
