William Ray Lucas, who led the NASA facility that took on much of the blame for the Challenger space shuttle explosion in 1986, has passed away. Lucas died on Monday at his home in Huntsville, Alabama, according to an obituary published on Friday by Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville.
