- As CONCACAF's top club competition, the CONCACAF Champions Cup features teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean and was formerly the CONCACAF Champions League .
- Despite heavy pressure, Los Tigres UANL dominated possession with 72 per cent, outshot Forge FC 20-9 overall and 10-2 in the first half, and registered eight shots on target and eight corners.
- The tie continues next Tuesday at Estadio Universitario, Monterrey, with Los Tigres UANL committing more fouls than Forge FC in the opener.
- Cruz Azul, the reigning champions, won the 2025 final against the Vancouver Whitecaps, and the winner automatically qualifies for the FIFA Club World Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
