UNITED STATES, JUL 21 – PetSmart Charities partners with nearly 4,000 organizations to find homes for pets during National Adoption Week, addressing shelter overcrowding amid 1.5 million kittens entering shelters annually.
- On July 21, PetSmart Charities kicked off National Adoption Week, with thousands of shelters bringing adoptable pets to nearly every U.S. and Puerto Rico store.
- Amid rising kitten births, this month's adoption event culminates during peak kitten season, and a surge of vulnerable kittens and cats floods shelters needing around-the-clock care.
- Through a network approach, PetSmart and its partners work with nearly 4,000 animal welfare organizations to bring pets into stores.
- PetSmart Charities' program has helped more than 11 million pets connect with homes, and each adoption frees up shelter space for another animal.
- Midlands Humane Society is bringing adoptable pets to PetSmart at 815 McDermott St., Council Bluffs for National Adoption Week July 21-29, with pets available on July 23, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and July 26-27, noon-3 p.m.
