Forest Service conducting pile burnings on Rabbit Ears Pass

The U.S. Forest Service on Monday conducted pile burnings on Rabbit Ears Pass. Approximately 50 piles were set alight on Forest Road 302, with smoke visible from U.S. Highway 40. Forest Road 302 is south of Highway 40, and southeast of Rabbit Ears Peak. The Forest Service periodically conducts burns as a way to protect the surrounding area from wildfires.
