Ford Adds F-150 Carhartt, More V8 Choices, New V6, and Hands-Free Towing for 2027
The update adds hands-free towing on more than 130,000 miles of highways and trims thousands of dollars from new off-road variants.
- Ford Motor Company announced Tuesday the 2027 F-150 lineup, featuring a new base engine, hands-free towing technology, and a Carhartt special edition alongside redesigned grilles and wheels for XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims.
- Replacing the previous 2.7-liter unit, a new 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 delivers 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque with peak power arriving 1,250 rpm lower, improving towing performance. The 5.0-liter V-8 returns to King Ranch and Platinum models for the first time since 2023.
- Advanced BlueCruise with Towing technology now enables hands-free steering on over 130,000 miles of divided highways, managing trailer profiles, speed, and distance to leading vehicles. The feature is included on all BlueCruise-equipped 2027 F-150s with no additional subscription fee.
- Ford launched lower-priced Raptor Low and Tremor Low trims, reducing starting costs by removing convenience features like heated seats and premium audio systems. The Raptor Low costs about $4,000 less than the 2026 model, while the Tremor Low saves about $5,300.
- Designed with workwear-inspired styling, the 2027 F-150 Carhartt Edition adds custom graphics, spray-in bedliner, and themed interior upholstery to the XLT crew cab. Orders begin today at $65,455 including destination charges, with deliveries starting early next year.
