For the first time, the Philippine Navy fired Mistral anti-aircraft missiles from one of its Jose Rizal class frigates.

The Philippine Navy reached a new milestone in its modernization process by successfully completing the first Mistral 3 anti-aircraft missile test from one of its Jose Rizal class frigates. The missile launch took place on 28 April in waters west of San Antonia, Zambales, as part of a demonstration of capabilities led by the Philippine surface fleet conducted during the bilateral exercise ‘Balikatan 2025 with the United States Armed Forces.
