For the first time, Microsoft to release a Halo game on Playstation

On Friday, Microsoft announced a full remake of Halo: Combat Evolved's campaign rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, coming in 2026 to Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5.
Using original source assets and storyboards, Halo Studios revisited cinematics and visuals to modernize the campaign while honoring Bungie’s story for Halo's 25th anniversary next year.
Adding modern mechanics like sprint and vehicle hijacking, the remake includes three new prequel missions with Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson, dozens of Skulls, two-player split-screen, and four-player online co-op, Microsoft said.
Microsoft says the remake will arrive day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, supporting Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere, while some longtime Xbox fans noted the lack of traditional multiplayer.
Halo Studios says the blueprint for future Halo games will be refined in the coming months, with pricing still unconfirmed amid speculation of $70, $80, or $50, and more to share in the months ahead.
