" Traces of contamination with E.Coli bacteria have been detected in the meat or on the surfaces of some of the butcher shops," the prefecture said.
Five butchers remain closed, while the butcher's department of an Intermarket has been out of the question. A new case of poisoning related to the bacterium "Escherichia coli" has been recorded, announced Friday evening the prefecture of Aisne, bringing to 26 the number of people infected to date.
Traces of E. coli were detected in the meat or on the surfaces of some of the butcheries analysed by the health survey.
After the death of a teenager, traces of E. Coli were detected in butcher shops in Aisne, leading to referral to the public health centre.
Twenty-five people have been infected since the first cases were discovered, while six butchers were analysed.
The analyses show " traces of E. coli contamination in meat or on surfaces" in several establishments. The judicial investigation continues.
