Fontaines D.C. Release New Single "Tongue"

The track extends the band’s processed sound and follows August’s lead single, with a video filmed by the group in New York City.

  • On September 30, Fontaines D.C. released "Tongue," the second single from their upcoming fifth studio album Dopamine Chamber, arriving October 16 via XL Recordings.
  • Produced by James Ford, the record follows 2024's Romance; guitarist Conor Curley said the track "continued where Romance left off, leaving the live-band elements until they were really needed."
  • Bassist Conor Deegan manipulated tape speeds to "give the bass the warped character of a hip-hop sample" while guitarist Carlos O'Connell processed Grian Chatten's vocals through a sampler.
  • Marking their first-ever guest appearance, the album includes a duet with Rosalía; additionally, the band released a John Angus Stewart-directed music video filmed in New York City.
  • The group continues expanding their sound, drawing comparisons to The Cure, while gearing up for a tour that currently includes no U.S. dates.
