Florida State Softball Star Isa Torres Announces She's Entering Transfer Portal
The reigning National Player of the Year leaves after hitting .530 with 56 RBIs and 16 home runs in a record-setting junior season.
On Monday, June 8, 2026, Florida State shortstop Isa Torres announced she is entering the NCAA transfer portal, calling the move a "difficult decision" in a social media post.
Torres said the move stems from pursuing "a new opportunity and embracing a new challenge" rather than abandoning Florida State after her record-breaking junior season hitting.530 with 56 RBI and 16 home runs.
During her three years in Tallahassee, Torres recorded 261 hits and 34 home runs while setting an NCAA record with 16 consecutive hits and earning ACC Defensive Player honors with a.989 fielding percentage.
Her departure marks the second major transfer portal entry for the Seminoles this offseason, following third baseman Jaysoni Beachum's exit, with Torres retaining one year of eligibility.
With one year of eligibility remaining to play NCAA Softball, Torres is expected to be a top target for programs nationwide after being a finalist for the USA Softball National Player award.
