Florida man missing after visit to Mount Washington summit, Fish and Game says
MOUNT WASHINGTON SUMMIT AREA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, JUL 18 – A multi-day search with over 50 personnel, drones, and helicopters ended with the discovery of William Davis's body after he wandered off-trail and suffered a fatal fall, officials said.
- At New Hampshire's Mount Washington summit, William Davis took the Cog Railway train, was reported missing around 6 p.m. by his wife after last being seen near the observation deck.
- Wandering off marked paths without a map, New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said, and a park employee reached him by phone reporting he seemed lost off-trail.
- Despite initial mild weather, drone teams and ground crews searched late into the night in mild weather, and the operation paused around 2 a.m. before resuming at 6 a.m. with more teams.
- At about 11 a.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game officials discovered his body off Lion Head Trail between Alpine Garden and Tuckerman Ravine trails, and his remains were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
- Amid the community's response, Patrick Hummel, park manager at Mount Washington, said the community is grieving alongside Davis’s family.

Fla. man found dead after going missing off Mount Washington summit
A Florida man was found dead after leaving the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire, prompting a three-day search, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said Monday.
