Florida man dies 3 days after traffic crash in Commerce Township

A Venice, Florida man involved in a traffic crash in Commerce Township on Monday morning has died, officials said. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said James Raymond Skiver, 81, died on Sept. 4, three days after a crash on M-5 at 14 Mile Road. Skiver was a passenger in a 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by his 73-year-old wife who turned right from M-5 to 14 Mile Road into the path of a 2023 Acura RDX, the sheriff’s office said.
