- The incident took place after a female shopper photographed Mitchell as he allegedly urinated on two pallets stocked with hundreds of canned Spam and Vienna sausage units, which led to a police inquiry and the filing of an affidavit on June 3.
- Surveillance footage and store records confirmed urine contamination on the products, forcing employees to discard the inventory and causing a loss estimated at $10,584.84.
- On June 4, Mitchell was taken into custody and faces felony charges for criminal mischief involving damages exceeding $1,000, as well as a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct; he entered a plea of not guilty at his court hearing on June 10.
- Mitchell's legal matter is ongoing, with a court hearing set for June 30 in Lake County’s main trial court.
