The EPR nuclear reactor in Flamanville will be kept at a standstill until 13 August in order to verify the sealing of valves in the main primary circuit, it was learned on Wednesday 2 July. According to EDF, the target remains the switch to 100% power before the end of the summer 2025.
The reactor will not be restarted this Wednesday, July 2nd as planned. A leak on a protective valve is confirmed by EDF.
The reactor had been shut down in mid-June as part of its long start-up program, and a leak on a protection valve from the main primary circuit was detected.
