On the eleventh day of national unemployment, the Union of Indigenous and Peasant Communities and Neighborhoods of Ilumán (Unicobici), in the province of Imbabura, resolved to return to its territories to reorganize and coordinate actions with provincial, regional and national organizations, to strengthen de facto measures, in the context of protests against the elimination of diesel subsidies.
The C mara de Industrias y Producción estimates a price of USD 6 million per day in the country due to the national unemployment called by the Conaie, while Otavalo is one of the most affected cities.
