Five people died when an elevator collapsed in Sundbyberg in 2023, in what has been called the worst workplace accident in modern times. On Wednesday, all those charged in the accident were acquitted by Solna District Court. “Five people die but no one is responsible? It is nothing short of a scandal,” says Kim Söderström, chairman of the Swedish Construction Federation, in a press release.
