UNESCO's international Memory of the World register has been enriched by 74 new documents. Among them are the diaries of Croatian doctor Andrija Štampar, the first X-rays, and the literary legacy of Friedrich Nietzsche.

The philosopher, poet, and composer is one of the most influential authors and thinkers of modern times. Many of his books, including “Thus Said Zarathustra”, continue to be the subject of debate.

Nietzsche's estate now belongs to the "Memory of the World" of Unesco and enjoys the highest protection status as a world document holder.

At its current session in Paris, which will continue until next Thursday, UNESCO's Executive Board added 74 new documents to the international Memory of the World register, the German news agency dpa reported.

The literary legacy of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) and the first X-rays are included in UNESCO's international Memory of the World Register. An entirely Dutch collection has also been added to the list of documents. This concerns the Delta Archives, which record the construction of the Delta Works.
