Miyazaki Prefecture announced on the 22nd that a suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza that occurred at a poultry farm in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture, had tested positive for the virus after a genetic test. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, this is the first case at a poultry farm in Kyushu this season, and the fifth case nationwide.
