Emmanuel Macron visited firefighters on Thursday morning as they battled several blazes for four days that have ravaged nearly 2,000 hectares in the Fontainebleau forest, a green lung near Paris. The visit aimed to reaffirm the government's commitment amidst controversy surrounding the resources allocated to fighting fires in France.
This recovery was helped "by mobilising the other Europeans, by commanding, by putting six European countries together to be able to revive the sector, to produce it. So we did not wait for this crisis," added the Head of State.
