A fire broke out in an elevator shaft in a building on Kersengaarde in Voorburg around 3:30 a.m. during the night from Friday to Saturday, reports the Haaglanden Safety Region. Because the smoke spread across multiple floors of the building, arriving emergency services had to evacuate many people. An estimated ten homes were evacuated.
