A Connecticut firefighter has died after being struck by a piece of a fire truck that broke free. State police say Plainville firefighter Raymond Moreau suffered severe leg injuries and died during surgery at a hospital.

The state medical examiner’s office has released the cause of death for the Plainville firefighter who was killed in the line of duty on Sunday. A ceremony will honor a Plainville firefighter who was killed in the line of duty over the weekend. The Plainville Town Council said it will host a ceremony in honor of fallen firefighter Ray Moreau on Tuesday.
