County approves pumper truck, Onyx to be retired

Pottawatomie County commissioners approved a $78,500 brush pumper truck for the Shawnee Fire Department during its May 13 meeting. The fire department’s new truck, purchased from M&M Metal Works in Harrah, will help combat grass fires in city and county areas, Fire Chief James Kriwanek has been working hard to replace the older pumper trucks in his current fleet.
