Düsseldorf Airport today recalled the fire disaster in 1996 – it cost 17 people their lives.
When the firefighters ran through the empty arrival hall of the Düsseldorf airport on April 11, 1996, they hoped that all people would have saved themselves in the fire. Then they discovered the dead in elevators, a lounge and in a toilet.
